Printmaking, such a rich world of creativity wrapped up in a process that can be technical but also freeing in working a plate - bringing a balance of lights and darks, the right texture. I tried it one semester in the early 80s, always wanted to return to it. And so I did more recently at Concordia University, an amazing place to learn and develop. Now at Corner Studio I work mostly with aluminium. Etching is warmer weather work, when the windows can be open... there's always mezzotint :) Rocking a plate keeps winter blues away!
